Stop Press – New Build becomes “Refurb”

Recently the New Build working group met and agreed that because of the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic there was very little prospect of being able to raise the £1.5 million needed to rebuild the Village Hall for several years.

They recommended a refurbishment programme instead. This course of action has now been agreed by the Village Hall Trustees and by Wickham Market Parish Council.  Philip Tallent, Chairman of Wickham Market Village Hall, said, “We will now look at all the refurbishment possibilities for the village hall and establish priorities that meet the needs of the users of our hall.  All individuals and groups who have donated to the New Build project will be asked whether they are happy for their donation to be used for refurbishment.”
